I am an Indonesian. I’m highly interested in Life Sciences and Technology especially Plant Biotechnology. I graduated from Faculty of Biology Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. During my undergraduate years, I did research in wide area of Biology such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Taxonomy, Ecology and Environmental Sciences. My undergraduate thesis is about Development of Methods for Rapid Screening of Melon Resistance Cultivars to Powdery Mildew Based on Sequence Characterized Amplified Region Marker (SCARs) Linked to Powdery Mildew Resistant Gene. This research was conducted at Genetics Laboratory under Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono, M. Agr. Sc. supervision. My career objectives are to work as a lecturer and a researcher, with the focus on plant and environmental sciences. I have developed these career goals through my experiences as research assistant at the Genetics Laboratory, Coordinator for Research and Development in Forum for Genetics Studies of UGM and Head of Genetics Division in Indonesian Student Association for Biology (IKAHIMBI).
In 2007-2009, I worked as a research assistant in the Genetics Laboratory. In this laboratory, I continued my research about polyploidization in plants using ethanolic extract of perwinkle (Catharanthus roseus L. (G.) Don.) as an alternative anti-mitotic agent. This plant extract successfully induced polyploidization in golden flowers and shallots based on cytological and phenotypic characters. In addition I did research on freshwater fish genetics in the group of Dr. Tuty Arisuryanti. The aim of this research was to find the effective way for chromosome manipulation in Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) using a heat-shock method. In environmental sciences area, I did research on utilization of solid waste of Sugar factory as an alternative biofuel.
I worked as an bio engineer in private company on renewable energy from 2010 until 2012. My interest in energy studies is getting stronger. Now I am a 1st year Master Course Student in GPES The University of Tokyo. The topic of my research is about the studies on function of transcription factors involved in chloroplast differentiation. I will employ the multiple transformation of 9 transcription factor genes involved in chloroplast differentiation using Precise Sequential DNA Ligation on a Solid Substrate (PRESSO System). This research is under Dr. Tatsuru Masuda Supervision. I am interested in chloroplast development since this organele has the vital role in photosynthesis, which consider as the most important biological process on earth.
